Pleasant, actually, is something of an understatement. R and I have been cutting back on food a bit lately, tightening our belts, and so we haven't been eating as much or as regularly as we ought to. That's all well and good for me, since I have plenty of meat on my bones, so to speak, but R's a skinny thing who loses weight too quickly when he gets bad attacks of his IBS, so a little extra weight on him is probably best.
But cutting back isn't much fun for either of us. That's why today I was thrilled to find some cans of soup that had been pushed to the back of the cupboard. Quite a few of them, actually. Enough that R and I can probably have an extra meal a day for a week with what's in there. I don't know how they stayed hidden in there for so long, but let me tell you, I'm glad I found them! I've just had some pean and ham soup, and I feel warm and full and content. Definitely a good feeling to have when it's chilly outside!
Still stitching away on those bookmarks. I should have as many as I need done by the end of tomorrow, ready to be mailed on Thursday. Or possibly even tomorrow night, so long as I don't mind a quick walk to the mailbox at a nearby convenience store. That way I can be sure they'll be in the mail come pickup on Thursday morning, and won't have to wait until Friday morning for them to definitely be sent off. I find embroidery to be really relaxing. I have a few pattern ideas that I'd like to try, too, once the holiday rush is over and my time is more my own again.
And on that note, I really ought to be getting back to stitching and washing dishes. Not exactly the most exciting things in the world, I'll grant you, but more than good enough for me.
